| Welcome
The Waste Not Center is the signature program of Keep Franklin County Beautiful (KFCB). The Center receives donations from businesses of supplies that would otherwise be discarded and makes them available to teachers, artists and others for various types of projects. Donations of interest include out-of-season display materials; packaging and containers of all sizes; obsolete trade show give-aways such as literature bags, logoed pens, pencils and other items; literature binders and folders; off-spec product; fabric and ribbon,
The Center accomplishes the dual objectives of enabling teachers to obtain materials for their work that would otherwise be unaffordable and reducing the burden on local solid waste disposal systems.
On an average day, the Center will host 10-15 clients who collectively select about 1000 pounds of material and supplies for which they pay nothing other than a modest annual membership fee. Member clients estimate the collective value of what they obtain at the Center each week is about $4,000 based on what the items and supplies would cost if they were purchased commercially. On that basis the Center contributes to the community about $200,000 of value each year.
The Center is a 501[c]3 organization, so all donations are tax deductible. To join the Center or to make arrangements for your donation to the Center call (614) 278-9445
PARENTS: Need an end-of-year gift idea for your child’s teacher?
Give a one-day gift certificate to the Waste Not Center. The Center receives donations from businesses of usable, but no-longer-needed supplies that make great materials for arts and crafts projects and other school activities. The Center makes these items available to teachers and others at no charge other than a small membership fee.
One-day gift certificates to the Center are $10 each, or six for $50. The gift certificates allow the teachers who receive them to “shop” free at the Center for one day. Call Neil Drobny, Executive Director of Keep Franklin County Beautiful at (614) 278-9445 to arrange to purchase your gift certificate(s). The address for the Center is 2830 B Fisher Road, Columbus, OH 43204.
